Managing Agricultural Financial and Market Risks | Jeri Donnell, Noble Foundation | TCC 2014

Jeri Donnell, Noble Foundation agricultural economics consultant, lays out strategies to minimize risk in the cattle business through assessing your financial position, diversifying your operation and planning your livestock marketing. Donnell also discusses the use of financial tools — such as futures, options and insurance — and federal programs to help control risk exposure.

Donnell’s February 27, 2014 talk was given at the Texoma Cattlemen’s Conference in Ardmore, Okla. The annual conference is presented by the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation for the benefit of cattle producers in the Southern Great Plains.
