Bashed by door-to-door salesman for saying no

A grandfather was bashed by a door-to-door salesman outside his Endeavour Hills home. Courtesy: 7 NewsPolice said Bob Ikin answered his Dozey Court door to a salesman who tried to get him to change electricity providers at about 6pm on August 17.When the 73-year-old explained he wasn’t interested a verbal altercation ensued and the man punched Mr Ikin who fell to the ground.“I said ‘thank you very much now you can go away’,” Mr Ikin told Channel 7.The man punched Mr Ikin several times when he stood up and the fight moved to the street where Mr Ikin was punched again, causing him to fall again and strike his head on the nature strip.He got up for a third time and tried to look at the man’s identification, but the man struck him again and he fell on the ground, hitting his head a second time.The beating left Mr Ikin with cuts on the back of his head and he was also injured on his gums and his eye.Neighbour Maria Clua said she was shocked at the attack and Mr Ikin could have died.
